it’s a lil weird how the “art hoe” aesthetic is all specific artists and styles of art?? like it’s super cute but it tends to be more focused on a certain look than on the creative process of making art and being artistic. the fashion is easy to emulate if you’re rich and the art journals seem to all follow a similar style of colors and collage and writing. like idk I think art socks and docs and yellow are cute but it’s kinda weird how it’s all pale girls wearing the same 3 colors and how many kinds of artists are excluded from popularity (it’s especially fucked up considering the concept was created by and for POC).
TRU
yes…like it’s great but at the same time it makes me kinda sad bc the thing about art is that everything can be art and everyone can be an artist and that’s why all pieces of art are different and unique. that’s the great thing about art, right? how different people use different techniques to create different, unique pieces of art to emulate their feelings and tell us all different things. but i sometimes get the feeling that some “art hoes” don’t really consider that and just wanna be part of the whole thing bc it’s “cute” and “quirky”. why would you try and fit in with everyone else , wear the same clothes, use the same materials and carry the same backpacks when the important thing about art is that it is a method of self expression. art should really empower you and encourage you to be your own, unique self instead of just doing what every other “art hoe” does.
YO EXACTLY THANK YOU
the only reason your art looks awful to you is because you had an image in your head and the art you created doesnt match it
other people have no image, so when presented with the art you created, they’re usually pretty impressed, because wow you made that out of nothing!! its so cool!!
so next time you want to judge your own art badly try to remember that you’re comparing it to the perfect picture you had in your head as opposed to recognizing that hey u made a thing out of nothing how cool is that
I support the art hoes who literally cannot afford a kanken. I support fat art hoes who aren’t socially accepted because of their weight. I support the POC art hoes who made the movement only to have it whitewashed into some luxury style with crazy expensive markers & stylish socks. I support those art hoes. Stop excluding them from the movement that was never yours to begin with.
I bet all these pics of art im posting are making you want me to .. gogh away (at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York)
Remember that you were art long before he came to admire you, and you’ll continue to be art even when he’s gone.
im going 2 make art and put it in a museum. then im going 2 let ppl come in and punch it. $10 per punch. if u just wanna look at it then $5. when all my stuff has been thoroughly punched im going 2 open a new museum: ‘how ppl treat art when they’re angry’
I think everything in life is art. What you do. How you dress. The way you love someone, and how you talk. Your smile and your personality. What you believe in, and all your dreams. The way you drink your tea. How you decorate your home. Or party. Your grocery list. The food you make. How your writing looks. And the way you feel. Life is art.
